Our Model

Peace of Mind Nannies is a Rhode Island nanny placement agency and babysitting agency providing care of all children and young adults (up to age 21), including those on the Autism Spectrum or with other intellectual and developmental disabilities. While this is our specialty, the experience and training our team possess make them highly qualified to work with all who need care. Our team consists of nannies, daycare teachers, and Direct Support Professionals. Peace of Mind Nannies strives to meet your child care and caretaking needs through a variety of temporary and permanent nanny, babysitting and event child care services.

Peace of Mind Nannies supports all Rhode Island communities from Newport to Barrington and Smithfield to East Greenwich and Saunderstown. We serve high-net-worth clients to provide a customized, luxury child care service for your family.

We are committed to supporting and advocating for our sitters and nannies to ensure that their needs are also being met as a team member of Peace of Mind Nannies and as an employee of a family.

What Makes us Unique?

Peace of Mind Nannies is the only agency in Rhode Island that specializes in care of children with special needs. Also, unlike other agencies, our team members undergo a comprehensive background process annually consisting of a national criminal background check, a national sex offender check and a motor vehicle check. Our team also participate in annual professional development workshops focused on child development and intellectual and developmental disabilities topics. We also regularly meet with families and caregivers to gain feedback on their experience and mitigate issues that may arise to ultimately ensure that Peace of Mind Nannies achieves high quality childcare for your children.

About the Founder, Tiesha Sinouthasy

Founder, Tiesha Sinouthasy is smiling. She has curly dark brown hair, glasses, and circle shaped earrings. She is wearing a light brown dress

Tiesha launched Peace of Mind Nannies to provide all families living and visiting Rhode Island an opportunity to receive exceptional care. She was specifically inspired after she noticed a lack of specialized childcare for children with special needs. Launching Peace of Mind Nannies is the culmination of Tiesha’s professional experience in the nonprofit world, higher education at Brown University and over 15 years of experience as a childcare professional through babysitting agencies and more.

Her passion for empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities began early with her volunteer work with Best Buddies; a nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for friendships and leadership development among individuals with and without disabilities. Tiesha recently worked for two Medicaid programs in RI for children with special needs. She incorporated a child-centered/ led approach while working in classroom settings assisting youth who have autism spectrum disorder and cerebral palsy and while nannying for families.

Tiesha has also spent her career building strong relationships in the Greater Providence community. She established diverse partnerships on behalf of national nonprofit organizations such as the YMCA and City Year and more recently through Brown University. Her areas of expertise include recruitment of volunteers and participants and program development and evaluation.

Tiesha holds a Bachelor of Science from Salve Regina University where she studied Social Work. She has been appointed to the City of East Providence Affirmative Action Committee since 2021 and is an Advisory Board Member at Center for Women and Enterprise Rhode Island Women’s Business Center.
